The second annual West Norfolk Academies Trust Photographic Competition held in collaboration with the King’s Lynn and District Camera Club was held on 30th June 2025 at the Springwood High School. This year we decided to name the competition in honour of one of our members.
The late David Ashfield was a pivotal and inspirational member of the KLDCC. He was a talented musician, playing many types of guitar, but above all he was an exceptionally talented photographer who was always keen to pass on his skills to others. He was particularly keen to see younger members of our community learn the skill of taking images, be it with a camera or indeed a mobile phone. David was one of those individuals who was technically very adept but also very creative. He was known in the club as the king of the composite. The David Ashfield Cup was awarded to the author of the overall winning image by David’s daughters Sally and Jill. Prizes for the winning image in each of the five categories were presented by Andrew Johnson Executive Head Teacher for the trust.
The images below are the 50 entries shortlisted by the trust. These images were judged by Allan Livingstone an honorary member of the KLDCC. Well done to all who entered this year’s competition.
